A major overhaul of the bus network in conjunction with Translink and Brisbane City Council. The changes start on Monday June 30 2025 and cover the following:
- The introduction of five (5) new routes (29, 109, 127, 197) and the redesignation of one (1) route (111 to M1) as part of the Brisbane Metro project.
- The decentralisation of the network – resulting in an increase of ‘two seat journeys’ (where passengers transfer from one service to another to their final destination).
- Changes to Brisbane CBD bus stop network to increase service reliability and passenger options.
- Changes to broader bus network – this aims to facilitate the overall improvement of network reliability and efficiency.
- The removal of multiple services as detailed in the ‘Changes to bus services and routes’ section in the Brisbane’s New Bus Network page. There is an interactive map.
- The removal of the ‘P’ designation from express routes.
This is the latest stage of the overall Queensland’s broader public transport network including:
- The expansion of the Brisbane Metro network to include services to Capalaba, Springwood, Carseldine and Brisbane Airport.
- The expansion of Translink’s Smart Ticketing project throughout Queensland.
