It has been approximately three months since Queensland Rail introduced line numbers for South East Queensland’s rail and tram networks. Sydney Trains has been operating a similar system for a number of years.
This is part of a broader program to implement a numbering system across South East Queensland public transport network.
The system is as follows (Legend – T = Trains, L = Light Rail, F = Ferry):

- T2 – Kippa-Ring to Springfield Central via city and Darra
- T3 – Doomben to Brisbane City (Roma Street)
- T4 – Shorncliffe to Cleveland via city
- T5 – Airport to Varsity Lake via city
- T6 – Ferny Grove to Beenleigh
- Light Rail
- L1 – Helensvale to Burleigh Heads (with potential for expansion)
- Ferry
