Today sees the start of the 50 cent public transport fare scheme announced by the Queensland Government.

The fare scheme covers all urban rail, ferry and bus transport options throughout Queensland. The trial does not apply to dedicated school services. Any existng discounts or promotions have been suspended. The AirTrain service to Brisbane Airport operates on a diffferent fare schedule and is part of the trial period – single fares are $10.95 (adult) from Brisbane City stations.

For regional Queensland bus passengers – daily, 10 trip and weekly tickets (depending on te operator) are available for $5.
